About the Artefact
An ivory statue of Lord Buddha from the 18th CE measuring 7.2cm in height.
Held at The Smithsonian National Museum of Asian Art (Accession Number F1907.507; EDAN ID edanmdm:fsg_F1907.507).
Gifted to the Museum by Charles Lang Freer (1854-1919) who purchased it in Ceylon (Sri Lanka), from an unidentified owner in 1907.
